Shipwreck museum 40th anniversary

July 29 is very much a date for the diaries as it marks the 40th anniversary of the founding of the Shipwreck Museum. Originally called the Shipwreck Heritage Centre, then expanding its nomenclature to Shipwreck and Coastal Heritage Centre before contracting again to the present Shipwreck Museum, it has become one of Hastings’ top tourist attractions, pulling in nearly 90,000 visitors a year, which puts it amongst the top 5% most frequented small museums in the country!

We’ll be organising various events, so keep a look out for details of what’s happening.

And if you have any ideas for our Ruby Anniversary – and, indeed, if you’d like to organise something – then please do let us know. Or, if you have visited the Museum in the past, just let us know all about it.
