Pirate Weekend at the Shipwreck Museum

We at the Shipwreck Museum will be joining in with this year’s Hastings Pirate Weekend on the 16th and 17th July. As with 2019, we will be putting on several pirate-themed activities, with story-telling and children’s activities. Get to know more about the Warship Anne, whose wreck at nearby Pett Level is owned by the Museum. She spent a year of her life in the 17th century hunting pirates – she is a genuine pirate hunter!

The Rye river barge, Primrose, sitting in the yard at the back of the Museum, will be decked out in full pirate regalia. While there is no real evidence that she was involved in piracy, she may well have taken part in smuggling activities!

So, come along, dressed in your best pirate outfit and join in the buccaneering fun over the weekend of the 16th and 17th July, 2021.
